We've also been busy down at Hemp Gardens clearing up the site ready for our 2018 protestival series. A few of us spent Saturday clearing 2 large refuse sacks full of glass bottles, metal cans, various food packaging and plastics. Along with 13 hypodermic needles and a 6" knife which was handed into the local station.

The derelict bowling green, which has stood vacant for close to two decades which we have been affectionately referring to as Hemp gardens hadn't had the boundary hedges cut back in a few years resulting in the gardens being misused and abused.

We are seeking to take control of the abandoned site in cooperation withthe local residence associations and other community groups to run the area as a collective community space for all the residents to enjoy. We are endeavouring to have the children's play area reinstalled on the riverside too.

We are in talks with our local MP and are waiting on a freedom of information request to ascertain the fate of the once often frequented playground.

DCCC have offered to use the funds raised at the upcoming 420 event to replace the play equipment and are currently seeking advice on how best to approach this project.

We'd like to thank the people that generously donated their time to help get the gardens ready for our 2018 events. Which start on March 24th with the DCCC Springtime Session

We messed up a few of the live stream videos this week thanks to personal issues which have been subsequently resolved. We'll be back to live streaming from 12:30pm on Monday for the Medicated Monday and continuing on with Wake and Bake Wednesdays and Friday High Day live streams.

We have also just secured the first major speaker for the DCCC Springtime Session  A passionate activist, Cannabis advocate, Author and wonder mum Callie Blackwell!
